Crossing the Carquinez Strait Bridge part deux

BoilingMan's post about the Carquinez Strait bridge reminded me of crossing it in the early 80s via side door pullman and looking down on the Exxon Newark being loaded (unloaded?) below.

The tanker is being unloaded. The refinery is just up the hill.

I see hopper cars down there all the time--are those silos used for grain export these days??

The clock was ticking on the Newark at the time of that shot.  She was gone in the mid-1980s.

Coke export fron the same refinery.

Cool photo, I’ll have to show my dad as he worked at that refinery.
