Bit of news for a slow Saturday. From local media reports it looks like UP had a minor derailment at Mablevale Arkansas yesterday. Media gives basically zero info other than a mention of it.
Mablevale is on the Little Rock sub just outside of Little Rock proper. There are several industrial spurs in the area so I’m thinking maybe some cars were being set out and one picked the switch. That and the fact that the maximum speed is likely 60 mph and the one picture in our paper definitely didn’t look like a high speed incident. The media likely reported it only because the crossing was blocked and people had to take a reroute. Ho hum.
