Wildflower Wednesday at "Larry's Lookout," with a bonus
Author: JoCoLB

Some full-blooming seasonal wildflowers along the right of way were decorating the scene at "Larry's Lookout"  in Gardner, KS, on Wednesday afternoon, May 8, 2019. But there was also a rare bonus --- a BNSF Railway work train was dropping off new crossties along Track  Two.

It's always interesting to watch the tractor backhoes operating atop the gondola and hopper cars on these tie trains..  Two machine operators were doing their thing during the afternoon hours between Waverly Road and the Gardner signal bridge on the Emporia Sub. Unknown how many miles of track will get new ties this year on the Emporia Sub.
