Historic Coaches on the Move
Author: cp1400

Heads up along the Bellingham and Seattle Subs. The first four coaches from the BC Chapter of the NRHS are on the move. The collection has been sold to the Heber Valley Railroad in Heber Utah. There are about 24 pieces of equipment that will travel on flat cars except for ex-Via  (Exx-CN 6524) FP9u #6300 which will probably travel on its own wheels. The 6300 will be one of the last pieces to go since its needed to switch cars for loading in New Westminster BC. All pictures are from May 19, 2019

1. BNSF train VBCEVE rolls through Colebrook BC with the first of the historic coaches in tow.

2. Closer look at the coaches wrapped for protection. The flat car ID and load are as follows:
TPDX 190634 – Coach 803
TPDX 192377 – Coach Mount Cascade
TPDX 190216 – Coach 301
TPDX 190815 – Coach Lake Ontario

Edited to correct location of Heber Valley Railroad.

3. BNSF train VBCEVE sits at the north end of White Rock beach waiting for  the authorities to give the all clear to enter the US at Blaine, Wa.

4. Historic coaches roll past the former Great Northern depot (located behind the train), and near the historic White Rock pier, only a couple of miles from the US border.

Once unloaded in Utah, the flat cars will cycle back to New Westminster for another load of coaches for Heber Valley.

Image 1 would be great with any train in it, nice composition, light, and colour.

Great photos, hopefully I can catch the move here in Utah when they arrive.

Great post but the Heber Valley Railroad is in Heber, Utah, not Park City, which is about 30 miles away from Heber. There's no rail connection between the two. To be more specific, there's no rail connection between Heber and anywhere, it's completely landlocked, so the cars will probably be unloaded in Salt Lake City or Provo and then trucked to Heber. (They couldn't be unloaded in Park City, because there's no trackage to Park City at all any more.)
