Motorcars on the Central Montana
Author: hawkeye

Motorcar season is upon us all.  This past weekend was spent in Denton, Montana riding on the Central Montana Railroad.  I convinced my daughter to take some time  lapse videos of several interesting locations during the ride.  Speeds were not as fast as the video implies.  15 to 20 on the open areas and less over the bridges and in the tunnels.  A good time was had by all who were in attendance.
Video 1 is the Sage Creek Tunnel on former Milwaukee Road trackage
Video 2 is theSage Creek Trestle  on former Milwaukee Road trackage.
Video 3 is the Ross Fork Trestle, former Great Northern trackage.

Tell your daughter to hold her camera horizonly. It takes better pics. that way. It won't have those Black spaces on the sides. upkpfan

I passed this guy headed westbound on I-90 east of Missoula yesterday afternoon, about 4PM. I guess this post explains where he was coming from....  :-)

Old timers in the area called that tunnel the Hoosac tunnel.
