At least I got the moon
Author: CBRL

I was kind of bugged that the Amtrak was so late I couldn't get a shot of it meeting this short local during daylight, but the clouds in the background were turning red and the moon showed up when the crew was finally able to start up again.  This is at the Alford siding about 20 miles north of Eugene, OR.

Nice catch. Unless we are seeing the rear of a train it met, does not look like a short local to me?

Thanks.  The wide-angle lens (10mm) makes the train look a bit longer - length was around 1100-1200 feet, short for around here.

I believe that is the P&W Eugene Hauler with only 39 cars.  They were by my house at 8:45

That could be-the picture was shot at 8:59. There was even another northbound that came after that but it was really too dark.
