Just heard that 6.6 quake centered in Searles CA. Could be near Tronna CA. I did not feel it in Redondo Beach CA. Now 6.4 corrected.

And there was a 4.6  " Fore Shock " in Ridgequest , just before the 6.6

This is not a good place for an earthquake. could be a build up to a repeat of the 7.9, 1857 Tejon quake.

It was felt in Santa Barbara, Las Vegas an all over So Cal. 

my wife felt it in kingman, az too...........

Some damage to Roads in San Bernadino County, its just beeen reported. 
 

AS of this time 12:30 PDT a earthquake could happen in Bakersfield CA in the next 15 minutes. Have never heard a serious earthquake prediction before. We will see. Per Kern County Fire.

The USGS website map shows two 6.4 quakes in two different locations within the same area about 20 seconds apart. Lots of after shocks so far a couple in the 4's the rest are 2's and 3's.

Expect all train traffic has been stopped between Fresno-Mojave, barstow-LAS, and Mojave-San Bernadino, pending track inspection.   Possible offset along the fault line 1-2 ft.  Possible rockslides.  Aftershock of 5 or better expected later.

To gone66's comment on feeling it in Kingman, nothing in Bullhead City. Earthquakes are weird, the motion
travel is very directional at times, fault lines aren't always very linear.

I hope the RR tunnels over Tehachapi are OK as well as at  Searles .

Hopefully Searles tunnel is still in good shape, that could put a big dent in Trona RR's traffic if damaged. At least the roadbed for the shoefly is still there if needed.

According to Caltech, the San Andreas, which the 1857 event occurred on, was far enough away to come into play. The Garlock fault which is closer, might produce a event, but this will go down as the day moves on. Also, the Lone Pine fault which produced a 7.4-7.9 in 1872, is closer.

I am amazed that the other poster did not feel it in Redondo Beach. My sister in Long Beach felt it very well. Surfing?
