Alaska Railroad Denali Star seen from the Anchorage People Mover
Author: tq-07fan

Anchorage People Mover is the name of the transit system here in Anchorage. It is various size buses, specialized transportation and they are involved in Ride-share somehow. This morning I walked into downtown to ride the first bus out downtown. It was being driven by Abdu, who I rode with yesterday. Well, I figure a day starting with Abdu should start pretty good and it did as his first route was the Government Hill route which crosses the Alaska Railroad on the North A Street bridge. This Alaska Railroad shops are on the East side of the bridge and the station is on the west side. The bus route goes up the hill makes a loop and returns across the same bridge. The three pictures were all taken from the moving Anchorage People Mover Startranz cutaway type bus. A picture of the bus is available upon request.
1) On the way up the Glacier Discovery, the train to Whittier is waiting in the shop area.
2) On the way back the Denali Star to Fairbanks with downtown Anchorage rising behind it.
3) Denali Star at 8:10 am preparing for it's 8:15 am departure with Knik Arm in the background.

Thank you for Looking!

1) Anchorage People Mover cutaway. These are used on at least five lower volume routes.
2) Railway Crossing at Grade (Diamond). I was surprised to see this as I did not expect a diamonf crossing in Alaska.
