Counts - BNSF vs UP in Arizona - 07/18/2019
Author: SouthWestRailCams

Good Evening,

For anyone that is keeping track, attached is the data for the month of July 2019 with data updated to 07/18/2019.  The numbers on the left hand side and plot points for that given day was processed by the system.  Please keep in mind, these are not "official numbers" by the railroad, however, the counts come from certain control points along the Subdivisions that are in Arizona (BNSF - Seligman Sub and UP - Gila Sub).  UP has other routes in and out of California which make up for the less traffic volumes along the Gila Subdivision.

You need to remember that this really isn't a versus situation as UP has another busy route to Southern California along the old LA&SL line south out of Salt Lake.

The route through Vegas probably contributes about 15-20 trains per day for UP?

Would be interesting to know what is increasing for BNSF... traffic generally or something specific?

That is correct Bob and is disclaimed in the description about UP having more routes. :)
