It's madness (say in Julia Sweeney voice)!

Do you have to sign your life away and deposit your first-born with them?

Spoon River bridge, as in Spoon River Anthology. Really.

Train backing across Spoon River bridge. It posed on the bridge for several minutes! Remember this was not a fan trip. This was a freight railroad being unbelievably friendy and accommodating.

Scene at New Philadelphia, IL before arrival of train. At this point, the entourage was broken into several subgroups leap-frogging one another.

Entourage at Bushnell, IL. They're in the foreground and along the left side of the tracks. This view faces CB&Q track north and KJRR crosses at the diamond.

A reporter with pink shorts...not that there's anything wrong with that.

Really nice to see ex CN units still soldiering along, long after their days on fast passenger trains up here.   Appears they now travel pretty slow and might not ever clear the carbon from their stacks, from the videos I watched.

Looks like Steve Smedley, who is a railfan who is employed as a newspaper reporter for a newspaper somewhere in the vicinity.

Love the pic with the crew in front of the F's! They have always been a great bunch of guys, very friendly anytime I have chased them in the past. Bummer to see the F's finally go, but hope that they will find a good home somewhere else. Railroad at least seems to be aware of their historic importance, so hope they don't just scrap em.

Do F-Units have roll-down windows? (wondering after seeing pic #3 (not counting the video))

Yes. EMD locomotives used interior hardware, fittings, and fixtures from GM cars. The "window regulator" came from some current GM car...let's assume a 1957 Bel Air.

Crowd was well behaved. Chasing was easy since they only go 10 mph so that helped keep things more civil
