Western Railroad Discussion > Lookin' Out My Backdoor!Date: 08/29/19 06:09 Lookin' Out My Backdoor! Author: santafe199 With deep apologies to Mr John Fogerty, here’s a phantom, shamelessly paraphrased set of lyrics CCR never performed…
Just got home with my toy, new telephoto, oh boy! Got to set up, use the vista from my porch Grain train action sets in, pretty soon I'm focusin' Doo, doo, doo, shootin' out my back door Giant GEs are the deal, unit train familiar wheels Look at all the loaded grain cars snakin' o’er the hill Up & down the railroad, just another payload Doo, doo, doo, shootin' out my back door Depth of field and pixels are mixing at my hand Won't you please help me shoot this scene? Doo doo doo Digital apparition provided by magician Doo, doo, doo, shootin' out my back door Up & down the railroad, just another payload Doo, doo, doo, shootin' out my back door Hit me up tomorrow. Today, I have no sorrow Doo, doo, doo, lookin' out my back door* 1. BNSF 3945 leads a loaded unit grain train south (TT east) toward Navarre, KS on April 9, 2018. Photo taken from a little alleyway between an old store building and a residential structure, as if I were looking right out one of their back doors. Thanks for humming along! Lance Garrels santafe199 *Lookin’ Out My Back Door was the ‘alpha’ side of a double-tuned 45 RPM vinyl release from Creedence Clearwater Revival in the summer of 1970. The ‘beta’ side of the 45 was a song called Long As I Can See The Light. This double release entered Billboard’s Top-40 in August of 1970, ascended to #2 before ending a 12-week chart run. It would be the 5th & final time CCR would reach the frustration of a #2 position, never once reaching #1… DJ Sir L Date: 08/29/19 06:30 Re: Lookin' Out My Backdoor! Author: 3rdswitch Like it.

I wouldn't mind being "kin" to his bank account... ;^) Date: 08/29/19 08:15 Re: Lookin' Out My Backdoor! Author: railstiesballast I'm glad to see someone having fun.
Wonderful photo and I love both of the CCR songs and I know the tunes that will follow me around all day today. However that is about the flattest, straightest brown worm I have seen. Date: 08/29/19 08:29 Re: Lookin' Out My Backdoor! Author: King_Coal Nothing like a Central Plains sky.

Larry Date: 08/29/19 10:04 Re: Lookin' Out My Backdoor! Author: switchlock I see now why you spun records, as opposed to appearing on them. ;)
Nice pic, BTW. Date: 08/29/19 10:50 Re: Lookin' Out My Backdoor! Author: santafe199 switchlock Wrote: > I see now why you spun records ... ;)

I do believe that kind of cruel and unusual punishment is strictly prohibited by our wonderful Constitution. I'm pretty sure I couldn't carry a tune, even in a jumbo hopper... No sir... give me two turntables, a mixing board and a stack of vinyl, and I know what to do. Maybe you can toss in a microphone so I can tell bad jokes once in awhile... 🎙 Posted from Android Date: 08/29/19 19:43 Re: Lookin' Out My Backdoor! Author: ironmtn No bad joke needed. It's a terrific image! Like the lyrics, too! You done the railroad and CCR proud.

As a musician me and friends always used to do that (Like: "Hey Dude", don't make it Rad, take a Rad song, and make it Radder) Of course back in the 80's "Rad" was short for "Radical" But you are TO king of switching song lyrics, love that kind of stuff, still find myself doing the same thing (in my head) from time to time! I heard "Looking out my back door" was a song about taking LSD back then (?) Jim Baker Riverside, CA |
