Western Railroad Discussion > Santa Fe Steam in Texas 1940s-50s?Date: 08/30/19 08:27 Santa Fe Steam in Texas 1940s-50s? Author: DDavidson1994 What kind of power did the Santa Fe use in Texas during the last decade of steam? I’m interested in learning about both mainline operations and secondary/branchline applications. I figure the 2900s and 5000s were probably pretty common on the transcon through the panhandle, right? What about the north/south route through the center of Texas and so on?
Thanks for any and all info, this is definitely the premier place to learn all things railroading! Posted from iPhone Date: 08/30/19 09:09 Re: Santa Fe Steam in Texas 1940s-50s? Author: OregonOldGuy You might try the nostalgia board for this one. Or the steam board.
