With word BNSF is planning to replace more NP era jointed rail on the Stampede Pass route this month I headed up to Easton, WA today 9-1-19 to get video on Main 1 which will soon be welded rail from what I understand.  BNSF 4640 East gets up and going from a standing stop earlier this morning at Easton.  The XPSA grain empty appears to be at speed by the time the DPU passes which is 40MPH on jointed rail.  Going to miss all that noise!

From the earthworm to the gray ghost. Nice video. Trying to imagine 2 EMD's in run 8 as power.

As always, thanks Brian for capturing these vanishing experiences of jointed rail.

No matter how much chuga those GE's give it, they will never equal the sound of  EMD SD-40---45's reving up.

Thank you for the video and the audio.  I don't live there and don't have to hear that in the middle of the night while trying to sleep, but that sounded more like music to me than noise.

It gets a little muddy once the train gets up to speed, but that was music.
