Around Dubuque IA Sunday Sept 1
Author: MILW86A

Was back home to DJ a wedding this Labor Day Weekend. So took a Sunday Funday and went up around Dubuque IA to see what I could find.

1. Empty CN Grain Train waiting on BNSF Traffic at East Cabin.

2. EB BNSF Manifest. The Cabin has changed so much. Used to hang out there a lot back in the days of the BN and CCP.

3. I got a tip that a EB CN had been lined up out of Dubuque to Portage earlier. So went to Galena to the west end of Grant Siding. Train was a S78091. It eventually went to Munger
then the power ran around the train then went north on the J from there.

In the CN Yard in Dubuque was CN's PTC Train. Or at least thats what I was told it was.

Nice looking caboose witht the AC Logo.

L565 Power which would go west later in the afternoon towards Manchester.

Tied down in Edmore Siding on the north side of town was a 674 Train on the CP. To the left would be the JD Dubuque Works,

Two sets of CP MACs were sitting in their Dubuque Yard. Rebuild fodder to be 7000 series MACs.

CPs B38 Train from Mason City to Savanna rounds the curve at Eagle Point Park.

CP had another 674 come down the river, so I did the usual street running shot at Bellevue at MP 21.

Good Trailing Power on this BNSF Tank Train. CSXT in the middle.

This WB Manifset had been parked at Obies Crossing for a few hours and now is going towards LaCrosse. A KCS Mexican Motor is 5th out.

Next was a WB Auto Train on the BNSF

Then came the CN M338 Train. 151 cars and 9000 feet of train.

More MAC fodder was on this guy.

Come on, K-Man.  You KNOW Ekards siding is north of Guttenburg!  Good stuff, however, thanks for posting.

Nice photo series.

What on earth is the history of that caboose?

That's a Canadian built caboose (2 smokestacks), ex Algoma Central, a shortline WC took over in the 1990's.

Great pictures! Does CN still own one of the main tracks in the segment they share with BNSF?

Thank you in advance.

CC&P sold its track to BN circa 1992.
