-Lost the sun at the Carpinteria Bluffs.
-West End Capitan siding.
-UP 7942 leading the Eastbound Local crossing the Santa Ynez River at Surf Ca.

Both crewmembers on the Blue motor were giving you the horns. Rock on!

Great shots!  I caught the unit in Guad with the flags still attached about 2 months ago.  I live behind the SB Mission and need to hear more freight horns in the middle of the night!!!

I see autoracks leaving SB out of San Jose a few times per week. They usually let it through after the morning commute and AMTK 11.. Not sure on what days, but definitely the weekdays.

That was my first guess, but the few times i seen the Shaka, it was knuckles forward, so I dismissed it. Now i know it goes both ways. Thanks, brah.

Is there a pattern as to the time and days of the week the local runs up to Lompoc?
Thanks

Recently?  I was under the impression that there hasn't been an auto train down the coast in about three months.

I haven't seen an auto rack in months nor the rock and I work at Reed and the UP tracks in Santa Clara used to see them consistently.

Unfortunately we haven't seen an auto train repo (or any through-freight for that matter) in at least 3 months.

?
I thought the Lompoc train was a stand-alone job. Is this not true? Are you saying that any of the “through” trains might stop and run up to Lompoc?

Lompoc is handled by the Guadalupe Switcher.  Not sure on the days.  The Gemco-Guadalupe Train does a set out northbound and pickup southbound at Oxnard and services La Patera Hayward Lumber yard on the north bound trip to Guadalupe.  No other work on line.
