Arrived in Cape Girardeau,MO this afternoon enroute to Springdale, AR, to ride the Arkansas and Missouri excursion train. Upon arrival, I checked my email to find that the ride set for Wednesday is cancelled because of "track maintenance." With extra time on my hands for Tuesday, I was wondering if anyone can give me an idea of what I might see on the BNSF line that hugs the Missouri side of Mississippi River in this area as well as the UP on the other side of the river. This is the line that crosses the river at Thebes. TIA for any info.

You are not that far from Ilmo MO.  This is where traffic starts ujp the grade to cross the bridge over the Mississippi.  Lots of traffic.  Used to be MP and SP now it is all UP.  Jeff
