FRA eastbound up Feather River with BNSF power?
Author: JDLX

Quick question for tonight....a friend of mine is camping in the Feather River Canyon this week, a couple hours ago he witnessed two FRA inspection cars heading eastbound up the canyon behind a single BNSF unit.  They are way east of Keddie, so this isn't anything heading for the high line.  Anybody know what the story is behind this, where it's headed and why the use of BNSF power?  Thanks....he's wondering.

I’m wondering where he’s camping east of Keddie and still in the canyon? Campground or....?

That sounds like the FRA train with BNSF power that went south through Dunsmuir last week. No idea why it had BNSF power but it didn't seem to be an issue for anybody.

The BNSF power has been on that train for most of its tour of the Pacific Northwest (exception being CBR). Probably was leased by the Feds for the trip.
