Author: rrartist Starting with one from yesterday, the CP 8032 leads a KCS motor southward from La Crescent MN with a CP 574 oil load. Last night we received 3.2 inches of rain, Prairie Du Chein received over 7 inches which caused a major washout north of there near Charme, so with the BNSF at a standstill it was going to be a CP kind of day starting with the CP 581, CP 8150. No amount of rain would or could wash the grime of the UP 8412, CP 340's train.

The EMD lead train sounded pretty sweet as it passed Homer MN. Next up the CP 8039 and CP 580's train curving past Homer MN.

CP 474 had a very friendly engineer as he and the CP 8831 motored past Dakota MN. I heard via the scanner that 474 was going to meet at Kains Siding south of New Albin and with prior knowledge there a CP 375 coming north with KCS power, I headed south. The first of the two was a CP 813, UP 5844. Once the coal load cleared Kains the CP DS cleared the CP 8831, CP 474 to run to Harpers Ferry, the next siding south to meet one. Off to Harpers Ferry Iowa to find the KCE 3952 and the CP 375 train.

Sounds like the BNSF might be back in business as I heard several trains meet on the Wisconsin side on my way home.
