Some Metrolinks Before No Starlight
Author: erielackawanna

Set out with a friend on Sunday to catch a couple shots of the detouring Coast Starlight in Soledad Canyon, arriving early enough to get the two regular Metrolinks and the Rams Special one too. Sun wasn't quite cooperating, but got some good angles of SCAX 262 at the Santa Carita River Bridge and over by CP Soledad, and then a decent view of SCAX 261 at Tunnel 19, and a nice view of the Rams Special (SCAX 274X) at the Agua Dulce intersection, but as we set up for our shot of the Starlight on the S-curve there, we heard 262 call a trespass strike and that was it for the morning. The Starlight would hold for a few hours before hitting the Canyon and we would be long gone, back home, by then.

Image one is SCAX 262 at the bridge over the tracks and the river (near the big cat preserve).

Image two is the same train, west of there, between CP Soledad and CP Lang.

Images three and four are SCAX 261 on either side of Tunnel 19.

Image five is of the Rams Special under the bridge at the intersection with Ague Dulce Canyon.
