Today's BNSF Pasadena Local in Glendora, CA...
Author: PasadenaSub

While visiting my Dad (CR3 here on T.O.) in Glendora today, I happened to be at the right place at the right time to catch the westbound Pasdena Local at the Vermont Avenue grade crossing.  The train turned out to be a light engine with a mix of new and old schemes, which worked out well for my Iphone in the nice fall lighting.

This is the first time I've photographed this job in Glendora in about 3 1/2 years, since I moved to Riverside in the spring of 2016.  New condos have since sprouted up in the background of the westward looking photos.

3) Another going-away of the local heading towards Irwindale, with the new replacement signal displaying a flashing yellow alongside the turned-away originals.

4) For comparison, here's GP60M 138 at the Barranca grade crossing in Glendora from December of 2015 - still in fairly decent H2 paint.  The GP60M fleet has since received the current standard scheme after rebuilding.

Thanks for looking,

Rich

Rich - does the Pasadena Local run five-days-a-week(or more) and does it still hit Glendora westbound around noon?

Thanks,

Bob

Hi Bob,

Pretty sure it's still just a Monday-Friday job.  I have visited Glendora only on weekends the past 3 years and have never heard or seen the local then.

I saw the train today at 1:45pm, not sure if that's the normal time or not.

Thanks for your photos.  I loved the GP60Ms in H2. I felt no locomotve looked better in that scheme.    The nose seems somewhat underemployed in the H3 scheme.  Ahh, progress.

In that last photo, I love the way the crossing gate cantilever bells are mounted--very cool, unique--never seen that before, but I love it!

I heard him going westbound through Upland about 11:55 on Wednesday morning. Would guess he had some box cars for Pomona and lefdt them there to work on his way back east. May have stopped for lunch between San Dimas and Glendora at Lone Hill. Yes, it still just a M-F job.
