Trains in the Columbia River Gorge, September 2019, Part 1

Following up on the weeklong trip in June, the usual second weeklong trip in September yielded even more trains in the Columbia River Gorge, with mainlines on both sides of the River. On the south (Oregon) side is UP's former OWR&N Portland Subdivision, and on the north (Washington) side is BNSF's former SP&S Fallbridge Subdivision.  Here is a selection of photos from the first full day (Friday 9/6).

1) 12:46 PM: Starting with the BNSF Fallbridge Sub, ES44C4's #6676, #6893, and #6836 are the power for a westbound manifest.

2) 1:24 PM: C44-9W #4750 is the DPU on a westbound loaded grain unit (lead power was C44-9W #5429 and ES44DC #7328).

3) 1:37 PM: ES44AC's #6191, CREX #1329, and CREX #1314 are the power for a westbound loaded coal unit (DPU was ET44C4 #3860).

Next Three:

4) 2:03 PM: Moving over to the UP Portland Sub, C45ACCTE (ES44AC) #5368 leads an eastbound Z, the ZBRG1B-06, along with C45AH (ET44AH) #2699 and SD70M #5201.

5) 2:19 PM: C45ACCTE #7415 and C44AC (AC4400CW) #6190 (ex-SP #142) are the DPU's on an eastbound intermodal, the ITAG4-06 (lead power was C45ACCTE's #7994, #7399, and #7395).

6) 4:55 PM: SD70ACe #8788 and C45ACCTE #8046 are the DPU's on a westbound empty garbage unit, the OGLPS-06 (lead power was C45AH [ET44AH] #2597 and SD70ACe #8623).

7) 6:31 PM: Back over to the Fallbridge Sub, a westbound Z, the Z-CHCPTL, heads along the cliffs and evening shadows (power was ES44AC #5759, SD70ACe #9276, ES44C4 #7008, ES44DC #7809, and SD70MAC #9972).

What structure remains are in photos 2 and 3?  I see some fresh lumber but it otherwise looks like some destroyed buildings.   Were they boathouses for the homes on the other side of the tracks?

Those are not remnants, but actually traditional fishing platforms for one of the local Native American tribes.
