Cool Video.  That such a nice area to watch trains.  Quiet, remote and scenic.  Just watch out for those big rattlers when the weather is warm.

Where in Utah is this video taken?  I have use Google with the title of 'Rainbow Canyon, Utah' and all I get is a canyon near Lake Powell.  And a news article about a Air Force plane crash in the canyon on 1 August 2019.  And Google Maps with the same title shows the same area.

I'm pretty sure this is Rainbow Canyon, Nevada, not Utah. South of Caliente, NV.

Caliente, Nevada is north of Las Vegas.  There is a post on 16 October by 'westfalen', with the title of "UP in Rainbow Canyon" and they mention Etna, Utah.  So, me thinks that this is where this video was also taken.  This is what I like about TO.........,I get to use Google Maps and Google to figure out where they are talking!  Fun times.

On the subject of what camer is used and its steady-ness....
I have a friend that uses his Smart Phone handheld and it is rematkably steady.
You pays your money, and takes what you get!

The location might be Boyd on the milford to Las Vegas section north of where the derailment at Carp was

Yes Rainbow Canyon is in Nevada.  It's the first 20 miles south (RR direction west) of Caliente between there and Elgin, NV.
