Western Railroad Discussion > BNSF Service interruption - Needles sub and Medley NM

Hi all,

Reports of broken rail at Needles sub (not so worried here) and derail at Medley.  BN not being super forthcoming other than to say Transcon not effected for Medley and no answer on Needles.  Anyone have info?

Santa Fe not BN. Better yet Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF),  BN got married to ATSF. Checked with a couple sorces and nothing about any service interuption

FWIW, a lot of people on the railroad refer to BNSF as "BN", even on former Santa Fe districts.

I like the repartee.  SF vs. ATSF vs. Big Green!

Medley is Medlar on the El Paso sub in southern New Mexico. Not on the Transcon. Nine or so westbound for Mexico grain loads on the ground about 2 a.m. Thursday. Estimated reopening 9:30 p.m. Friday (today). Cause unknown to outsiders.
