Latest assignments on UPY mothers and slugs?

Any new assignments of UPY 357 and up.  or latest on UPY 457 and up.

UPY 357/457 and 358/458 are at Beaumont, TX
UPY 359/459 are at Hinkle, OR
UPY 360/460 are at North Little Rock, AR
UPY 361/461 are at Proviso, IL
UPY 362/462 to 366/466 are not released yet

West Colton still running their SD38-2/SD40-2N/SD40-2N Hump Sets.

Only 3 left: UPY 830, 831, 833. And they won't be SD38-2 for much longer. Soon they will be off to MEI to become the last of the PS6B fleet.

Those particular engines have spent their entire career at West Colton. They were built and customized for the place.
About the only changes UP did was add the Remote Control gear and air conditioning.

Yup. 46.5 years for them in the basically the same assignment out of West Colton. Pretty good run I'd say.

Please excuse my ignorance, I assume that these number combinations are meant to stay together? What is the story on this? I must have missed it and I'm not having any luck searching.

I don't think they have to stay together, but thus far they seem to have stayed together.

One is a mother unit and the other is a slug. Yes they can be split up and probably will be sometime in the future.
