Western Railroad Discussion > Ex NdeM SW1504 Still Working On The Central Midland RailroadDate: 11/30/19 08:10 Ex NdeM SW1504 Still Working On The Central Midland Railroad Author: Ohiorailfan On the 14th the goal for the day was to see the Central Midland Railroad which runs over Ex Rock Island trackage from Maryland Heights, MO to Union, MO as well as east to St. Louis. This job works west Tuesday and Thursday and returns east Monday and Wednesday. Power for this job is HLCX 1521 which is Ex NdeM/Ferrovalle SW1504 the unit was built in 1973 as NdeM 8824. The other unit is FURX 1550 Ex SP/UP MP15DC. We were hoping for the SW1504 to lead west to Union, but this day the Ex UP would so we followed it all the way to Union where the crew ran around the train and the 1521 would be in the lead as they worked around town. I'm a sucker for Ex Mexican units so this was a real treat to see for me. Enjoy!!

Been running with shitty looking lease power pretty much since the day Progressive Rail took over. Altough they did use a Manufacturers Railway MP15 at start up

to even find the Central Midland so don't feel bad about the mile away thing. This little piece is the only active remainder of the Rock line between St. Louis and KC (other than the power plant lead might may or may not be active anymore).
