Stack overtakes Stack at Crookton, Arizona

I was driving from Winslow to Needles on November 8th and spotted these interesting westbounds doublestacks overtake from the route 66  overpass in the mid afternoon

the heat haze from the Dynamic brakes on the north track stacks was visible, considering the afternoon temperature was rather cold

the overtaking train on the south track had some trailers , so must have been the more importa

Crookton station and siding and the water tank site was just out of sight around the  far eastern end and i beleive the old long  dismantled main line diverged off to the south in that area to the right

Another peaceful looking day it looks like! A far cry from a couple days ago after the major snowfall. Crookton was in "Code Brown". No power, no dice for the DS. It made for a quiet, winter wonderland; the setting sun giving way to blues and lavendar skies.
