Thanks for getting out there and shooting it.  Probably going to be a late-night/early morning run from Yuma to West Colton.

Thanks for the comments.  Seems he is limited to 30 MPH?  There are crews in the cabooses as well.

Escorts for the load they're on the way to pick up. Wonder if it's headed for LA/LB Harbor?

Please don't take my edits below with any sort of negative impact, I'm simply attempting to add unilateral interest to the discussion by making a few exposure adjustments to uploaded captures for others to view more accurately. Awesome to know the Schnabel is in So Cal!!!

Thanks Mr. MRL, it's all good.  We got home so late, didn't have a chance to turn on the good ol Photoshop.

To me this is what Trainorders is all about.
First, to Christina for the capture and the heads up! Appreciate that a lot..
Second to Mr. MRL for the cleanup work and the respectful attitude.
...and finally, Christina again for the respectful reply to Mr. MRL.
Both of you, class act all the way on this one.

Thanks again!

Came across this website:

Apparently KRL 3600 is the largest Schnabel and the largest railroad car ever built.

Interesting,...The miramar industrial spur is the last place I'd expect to see a car like this and I don't think it will be able to traverse the wye.. Plus at the moment there isn't any room at accommodate a car like this (plus most of the unused trackage is occupied by old San Diego Trolley equipment and covered hoppers.) I wonder if its heading to the Port of San Diego or Stuart Mesa instead?

I cant think of anywhere else for this car to stored or loaded.

Rumor is that its headed to SONGS (San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station) to pick up nuclear waste. Due out of WC at 2am and into SONGS at 5am, trying to avoid as much commuter traffic as possible.
