Between San Diego and Los Angeles. Rail line on bluffs with 50 trains per day. Rising sea levels and increased rainfall are factors.

That and the fact that the bluffs have been sliding into the ocean for a couple thousand years now.

Good grief, the sea levels off CA have only risen 6 inches in the last 70 years.  Zero impact on the bluffs so far.

Six inches of sea level rise in 70 years is a material change.

Here in South Florida, any new house constructed on the ocean or bays will be elevated a few feet.

A major factor for slippage is water seepage into the bluffs from homeowners watering their plants and lawns.  Plus there are many more daily trains than in previous years which may increase destablization of the bluffs.

Those bluffs have never been stable in the first place, they're old sea floor.

I wondered where Del Mar was so I opened the link. I found a lot of interesting information so paraphrased some of that in my post. Nothing there is speculation on my part.
