Money is for the pick up. Posted from Android Date: 12/14/19 00:20 Re: NS: GM to expand Wentzville MO plant Author: Coalca 6 years ago I bought a new diesel truck for $43K. To buy a similar new diesel truck today is almost $60K. This for cloth seats and basic options.
Both Chevy and Ford have diesel truck packages that can top 100k msrp. Date: 12/14/19 05:57 Re: NS: GM to expand Wentzville MO plant Author: ronald321 Wentzville is on the former Wabash Kansas City-St, Louis mainline. I pretty sure the NS serves this plant exclusively..
The line is single track - but fast and well maintained. Used to handle the Union Pacific's "City of St. Louis". Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/14/19 06:30 by ronald321. Date: 12/14/19 06:14 Re: NS: GM to expand Wentzville MO plant Author: Lackawanna484 Coalca Wrote:

Thanks for the info, it will be interesting to see what's on the next gen truck. Of 60 vehicles in the parking lots, at 55 were pickup trucks.

They have become family vehicles with a short open cargo area. I am comparing of course to the traditional 8 ft bed or crew cab w/8 ft bed. Those can't be easily used as daily/family transportation since you can't fit into the parking spaces of today. Like someone else said, it is increasingly difficult to find a basic pickup truck for work, everything comes with all the bells and whistles since so many people want a luxury vehicle. But if that keeps the automakers going, more power to them! There's a lot of debt out in consumer land. Sub-prime auto loans, mortgages and refinancings, medical debt, old student loans. Add in car loans that last longer than the vehicle may last. Many folks are a paycheck away from serious financial squeezing... |
