State Line coal action
Author: bakersfielddave

Took these just before we got snowed in , in late Odtober ..these the day before the snow came to Cheyenne my home for that week

Torrington ,Wyoming at the West C street crossing .  a lot like the Kearney crossing but with differing tone ...and Morrill ,Nebraska at the City Road crossing just off Highway 26

the UP  action both loads and empties showed up after the BNSF trains by about  10 minutes..  would have been good to get four  together but not to be

will post the snow encrusted Cheyenne trains,  later this weekend

Morrill ,Neb

and with a pleasant surprise as a DPU still doing its coal service duties after 23 years

9468 seen in the previous clip  was 2 years older than this unit  , but now wears the current colors

Those are original C&NW passenger cars (a RPO and a Tavern/Lounge) but the caboose with them sure looks more like a former BN piece.  Apparently that is a free museum in case anyone has an interestin in Torrington WY history as you pass through.

The opening in the elevator is where the grain trucks would drive through to be weighed and unloaded.
