UP1983 Western Pacific Heritage Heading to Marion, AR
Author: RailFanAZ

Thanks for a timely heads up on the website my husband and I run and then a confirmation from a fellow TO Member, we were able to intercept UP1983 the Western Pacific Heritage Unit on a Premium Intermodal heading to Marion, AR.  He actually shocked us as we did not see him until we saw the headlights through the bushes.  He was making some really good time, probably at Trackspeed at 70 MPH!  Here are some photos that I got and then the Video to come at the end.  Enjoy!

Excellent captures! This train passed a wb manifest (led by 10 UP engines!) and a pair of helpers (idling on the station siding) at Palm Springs at 0915 PST Weds 1/8/19.

Nice video!

Alot of those plain white truck trailers are showing up on UP trains now.  I haven't been able to indentify the owner yet.

Need for speed!   This train gets split at Mesquite, TX, from about the last Marten trailer to the rear gets dropped at Mesquite, the rest comes to Memphis.  UP has seen a decent volume increase in the Marten contract past few months coming into Marion.  Not sure about the nameless trailers other than maybe UPS rentals.

Thanks Everyone for your Comments.  From my sources, UP1983 is already back from the East and is coming through Arizona on 01/12/2020 (Sunday) on the ZMNLA-10 (Premium Intermodal-Marion, AR-Los Angeles). Estimated departure from Tucson on 01/12 at 13:28
