Wauna is the location of a paper mill that closed some time ago -- a James River Paper Co. site, I believe.

You mean pulp mill. Back in Boise Cascade days, it supplied multiple paper mills in the greater Portland area.

The mill reopened a year or two ago. Not sure of the date. Served twice a week by night time local out of Avon yard, crew comes out of St Helens five days a week to Avon. Uses one GeeP usually. Crosses only swing bridge still active at Clatskanie.
