Western Railroad Discussion > The Middle MenDate: 01/25/20 11:35 The Middle Men Author: spsniper Middle Man UP 2587 and crew, grind uphill as mid-train helpers on a heavy West Colton to Roseville manifest.
Shot at the big curve Warren, CA! Date: 01/25/20 12:04 Re: The Middle Men Author: ble692 There are no more West Colton to Roseville manifests. Apparently those are bad in Unified Plan 2020 (UP's PSR term). So they run MWCST and MWCSTX trains that are huge and can have cut in power, plus more power on the rear. That is most likely what the train pictured is. Funny thing is half the cars on the trains are Roseville bound traffic and that still gets there eventually, just after making a stay in Fresno or Stockton. Unless they extend the destination of the train to Roseville, but still call it a Stockton or Fresno. Games I say...

mapboy Date: 01/25/20 17:59 Re: The Middle Men Author: Bob3985 I got a text frommy old boss indicating that the last car rolled over the Davis yard in Roseville at 10:40am a few days ago.
I remember when we took 844 and 3985 there to dedicate the hump May 26/27 1999. Bob Krieger Cheyenne, WY Date: 01/26/20 09:22 Re: The Middle Men Author: bluesman Are those DP units or are they manned?

He gave you bad info, the hump is still going. Date: 01/28/20 13:01 Re: The Middle Men Author: johnsweetser Is this really a westbound (Colton to Roseville) train? I don't think I have ever seen a westbound train on Tehachapi carrying lumber and lumber products like shown.
