Extreme winds MT
Author: fbe

Forecast is winds Cut Bank to Great Falls of 65-80 mph, East Glacier has recorded a gust of 106 mph. It looks like BNSF is detouring stack trains eastbound now over MRL. Livingston to Billings will see high winds and snow especially in mountain areas.

From Libby to the Flathead Valley more than 8,100 people are without power mostly due to fallen trees across power lines. The Bitterroot Valley south of Missoula has towns (Lolo and Florence) shut down (shelter in place) due to trees across roads and streets, trees across homes and power lines.

All this may last through Sunday.

It was windy all over the PNW today, but rain proved to be the worse problem in Western Washington and BC. Washouts and slides everywhere!

Strange, network weather people dont know about it, must be fake news, no they dont know we even exist for the most part ignoring anything much west of the great lakes. And about all those towns being shut down to most in them its just another winter soon in the books. Most have lived around the areas most of there lives and expect some problems every winter.   Hope all goes weil and there are few if any problems the people have due to it.

If it's west of Chicago it doesn't exist, at least in their New York eyes.
