Western Railroad Discussion > CORP gets new power???Date: 02/22/20 12:37 CORP gets new power??? Author: Railbaron Haven't seen anything on this before nor have I seen these units before, BUT.....
At the south end of the Departure Yard at Eugene Yard (Eugene, OR) are 2 ex-CSX SD70's with only the CSX painted out. They are numbered 4675 and 4677 and both are stenciled CORP on the long hood. Correction: CORP is actually spray painted on the hood but very neatly. Posted from Android Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/22/20 12:40 by Railbaron. Date: 02/22/20 14:05 Re: CORP gets new power??? Author: PHall The corporate parent G&W moves power around on their various lines as needed.
Example: When the coal traffic on the Utah Railway went away they moved the now surplus six axle power to the Kyle Railroad in Kansas who needed more six axle power. Date: 02/22/20 15:16 Re: CORP gets new power??? Author: milepost20 CSX 4675-4699 were sold to Progress Rail in 2018. The CORP reporting marks--rather than PRLX--on these
two units would seem to indicate that G&W has purchased them. The entire class was built as demonstrators EMDX 7000-7024. Saw a lot of use on the SP I-5 Corridor alongside the similar SP 9800-9824. In a way you could say these two units are back in familiar territory. Date: 02/22/20 15:30 Re: CORP gets new power??? Author: wyeth Maybe they're replacing the UP used power on the CORP trains between Eugene and Roseburg? This has been in the rumors for many months now.

NYSW 4050-4054 (even only) were part of this order and were diverted. Posted from Android Date: 02/23/20 18:35 Re: CORP gets new power???
