Uh, that's why the operation ratio went down, among many reasons.  8>(

Could be worse, the operating ratio could be 60!

And an Edit:
So it's 64.6 at the current employee level, what is it by dropping to one man crews where possible?
So, be an easy number (well sort of) for the bean counters or so they think, what are the costs of the
issues we've all brought up by having only one man in the cab? One of those "works great, until it
doesn't" things.

I will add one side note to my initial post.

Berkshire purchased that part (77.4 percent) of BNSF it did not already own in early 2010 for $44 billion (primarily cash, some shares, for assets and $10 billion of debt assumption). Since the deal was completed on Feb. 13, 2010, BNSF has sent $38.717 billion back to Omaha. Once another $5.283 billion is sent to Kiewit Plaza -- quite possibly by this time next year -- Berkshire will have gotten its money back. (Berkshire already had invested roughly $5 billion into BNSF shares prior to buying the company outright, during which time it received dividends from BNSF.)

Translation: From 2021 on, it's all gravy for Berkshire.

The concept of owning a Class 1 railroad, debt free, is mind boggling!
