Thanks a lot for this info.  I typically drive over and spend a few days there each year, and I was surprised to see the relatively flat number of trains/day, throughout the week.  I'm wondering if this is now typical, as in the past, from my own experience and hearing from others on this site, it seemed like Sunday's and Monday's were always considered slow days.

Mass props for the amount of work required to acquire and post that, really interesting comparison of the traffic between the
2 roads. If you add Donner and the FRC to the UP counts you'd have a fairly equal amount of East traffic to BNSF.

Andrew's log shows BNSF runs 2 trains to UP’s 1.  Intermodal is 70% 73 trains/week BNSF and 30% 30 trains UP out of 103 IM.  If you add in UP's Overland Route IM (31/week), it’s 134/week total, 55% 73 trains BNSF, 45% 61 trains UP.  That's with a substantial mileage handicap on BNSF and for non-Z8s and Z9's, a slow route over the Tehachapis on UP.

Another surprising thing is no UP unit trains and no UP auto rack repos, at least this week.  One of the few remaining UP unit trains over Tehachapi is gypsum, shown here-  https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,4931031,4931825#msg-4931825  They used to run two round trips a week of the RCEPTC/RPTCEC cement train from Mojave (Creal) to the Port of Stockton.  Andrew shows 22 unit trains this week on BNSF and none on UP.

There were 5 auto rack trains on BNSF, none this week on UP (they were mixed into manifests).  UP's ABEPR morphed into the AMIWC, but it no longer runs.  Instead the empty auto racks run on the AOALT.  They are not on the ILTLC or IBRLC.  Some may be going east on the Overland Route [see below], but there’s a lot coming south scattered on all the manifests, so no auto unit train.  They are no longer on the Coast Line, either.

Edit: per Ralph James, a Donner trainwatcher- 'Since the “new” operating philosophy took hold the solid auto repos [via Donner- mapboy] have been rare.  I have seen a couple but that is all.  More frequent are large blocks of racks combined with general manifest traffic.  Those appear infrequently but are not rare.  Beyond that, isolated small groups or single racks are common both directions.'

Great work on accumulating this data.  Would be interesting to know how many cars/platforms were operated over the route to see what affect UP's longer train PSR is having.
