OCFX unit tanker trains on BNSF
Author: RutledgeRadio

Occasionally, I've seen unit trains of tank cars on BNSF's Ottumwa Subdivision that consist almost entirely of mid-sized OCFX tank cars. I've looked up these reporting marks and they are owned by Owens-Corning, and I'm curious, are these unit trains of fiberglass or some material used in making it? Does anybody have an idea of where these trains originate and their destinations?

Are they placarded? If you can see the placard number you can look it up and that will tell you what these tanks are hauling.

According to Railcarphotos.com OCFX is now Iowa Fertilizer Company.
