Western Railroad Discussion > Next Up: Floods?Date: 03/20/20 06:41 Next Up: Floods? Author: Lackawanna484 The Wall Street Journal reports on concerns that parts of North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota will see active flooding this year. And down the rivers to New Orleans. Even as levees continue to be rebuilt.
Not as bad as last year, but significant. Planners are already stretched with Covid 19. I'm sure the railroad load and network planners are figuring out how this might impact their grain and ag business https://www.wsj.com/articles/river-towns-gearing-up-for-flood-season-as-pandemic-looms-11584696602?mod=hp_lead_pos7 Date: 03/20/20 07:54 Re: Next Up: Floods? There is no reason to believe this 90-day forecast is more accurate than most (accurate about 50% of the time). In this case, I hope the forecast is incorrect for the sakes of people who live near rivers.

Re-election? Posted from iPhone Date: 03/21/20 05:50 Re: Next Up: Floods? Author: Lackawanna484 Excellent observations.
The article notes that some river towns haven't completed restoration of flood walls, etc. Grain prices in the futures market continue to reflect many outcomes. Posted from Android Date: 03/21/20 17:41 Re: Next Up: Floods? Author: ns1000 Flooding will continue (if not WORSEN)....
