D&RGW - Front Range - 1978 (Corrected)
Author: cinder

Westbound D&RGW manifest enters tunnel 1 on the Front Range of the Rockies west of Denver in August 1978.  I initially thought it was 1971, but I stand corrected.  Thanks for the heads up..

Check that date -1981, perhaps? No Tunnel Motors and Railbox cars in 1971...

Awesome shot of an awesome location, regardless of date!

I miss the Rio Grande.  Such a great RR.  A shadow of its former self these days.  Great paint scheme.

Quite a climb up to Tunnel #1.  I did it when chasing the RGZ in the early 80s not too long before the END.  I was a LOT younger then also.
