Art is in the eye of the beholder. This image would definitely be considered art, especially in a RED Show at a gallery.

Aye- I'm more a single malt guy.  I warmed by the stove with a Laphoaig  (my go-to).
BTW:  This wasn't nearly as epic as some of my others- this was shot from the end of my driveway.  (but I had the Laphroaig anyway)

Looks like a "red-light " district to me.

I can say that that image certainly captures the impression of the scene, without too much detail to distract from the core focus of attention.
It seems much of the best art does that, draws the eye toward a primary focus, then gives some supporting details, then has a simple background.
Lots of RR photograpy does that with perhaps the best example being a panned shot of a moving train with the background blurred.
Keep 'em coming.

"Art is the expression of self" and if the "art work" has an practical use, like a hand-thrown ceramic rice bowl, then it is a "craft". Seems to me that the photo in question would qualify as art, if that was the intent of the photographer--or so I would say given my life-time college teaching credential in art.)

Well, I like it- and indeed consider it art. But I tend to poke fun at myself, hence the title.

I attended CCAC in Oakland, but ran out of money and never graduated...

Hitchcock I can agree on. The first thing that popped into my mind was "The Shining".
