Western Railroad Discussion > Still HereDate: 04/06/20 22:07 Still Here Author: ATSF2921 Hello all. Long time since my last post. As they say life gets in the way. Currently I'm doing at home schooling for my kids during this pandemic. With today's new math, I swear my kids are smarter than me lol. I was fortunate to catch the landlocked MNA (Missouri & Northern Arkansas) switcher here in Springfield the last week of February in the morning. Their schedule is unpredictable.
1. MNA 751 rolls over the ex-MoPac bridge over Scenic St. I can finally cross this long awaited photo off my list. 02/21/2020. 2. Crossing Kansas Expressway. 02/21/2020. 3. About 24 hours prior to the first two photos, I caught this scene that reminisced the old days of an end cab switcher, rocking back and forth boxcar, and jointed rail that gives the look and sound of classic "rayroadin". I really like how the snow highlighted the joints in the rail. 02/20/2020. Thanks for looking. Yes, it is on what is left of the ex-MoPac branch from Crane to Springfield. MoPac abandoned the portion from Crane to Battlefield in the 1970s making the northern part a stub.
