BNSF 5245 rounds the corner on Cajon! Can anyone explain why engines get those markings under the stack? Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/21/20 10:53 by spsniper. Those "flame-out" units are everywhere!
TJY Date: 05/21/20 18:38 Re: Burned Toast Author: sdrake Slightly older GEs used to have towering flame come out of the stacks on a fairly regular occurrence. What I am always surprised at is how bad the GE paint is compared with the EMD paint.
But nice pictures. Date: 05/22/20 23:21 Re: Burned Toast Author: shadetree Leaking fuel lines make fire, and burn paint.
The days of fire out the stack are pretty much over thanks to emmissions. Back in the day a worn govenor or leaky injector would make for quite a show. Especially if the engine was by itself and working hard. Eng.Shadetree Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/22/20 23:23 by shadetree. |
