Greg Elems sent me this shot from the Western Pacific RR Museum taken last Sunday.

I put it into black and white and it could pass for a classic shot of the WP in the 1960s, except for two details: WP GP20 2001 is wearing sealed beam headlights (we are working on reproducting the classic barrels) and WP caboose 484 did not come onto the roster until 1980, long after 2001 traded orange and silver for green and orange.

Still, a great modern photo that looks back into the past.

Some units lost their barrel headlights while still wearing silver and orange.
Of course you would have to "weather" that paint job to make it look "right".
