You can put a piece of foam over/around your microphone, and all that wind noise will disappear.

I haven't been able to figure out where the mic is on this camera.

or scotch tape maybe?  or just let the viewer deal with it

Aha...there are TWO microphones. That makes sense, because it's got stereo audio. I'm going to try putting a mini band-aid over each - gauze on the holes. Fingers crossed.

Gaffer tape over both microphones failed to eliminate wind noise, but it did cut down on the desirable sound. Go figure.
