Penalty for trespassers
Author: santafe199

Apparently the good folks at the KYLE Railway and an unknown landowner have pooled their efforts and come up with a rather stern, one-word policy for dealing with trespassers. It’s called: “Dismemberment”. I’ve taken the liberty of enhancing some examples of recent application of their policy…

1. “NO TRESPASSING!!!” Take a closer look:

2. This means yOU, yoU, you & you.
(2 photos taken May 17, 2020 from the relative safety of N Amos Rd just west of Solomon, KS)

I just haven’t been feeling ‘all there’ lately…

My late in-laws lived in a mobile home park in Queen Creek AZ that had a series of signs like this on the entrance road, spiced with plenty of 5 MPH warnings too!
No decapitated dummy, though.

More no trespassing signs-!  Is there anywhere we can go park along the rails-?

Clever display by the land owner.

Amazing what happens when you ask permission. I was in rural Wyoming years ago on a forgotten corner of the C&NW, faced with the potential of a great shot at the expense of trespassing on a private road that was clearly marked in no uncertain terms. We knocked on a door of an adjacent house and asked nicely for permission. The property owner couldn't have been more accomodating when he found out we were armed with cameras and not hunting rifles. We were happy with the result.

Yeah... I kinda wonder if he isn't going after rogue hunters in this case. And the way this private road is situated the KYLE has to use it occasionallyfor train crew and/or M.O.W. functions. If I get an opportunity I'll talk to the guy and see what's up...

That is an interesting CNW bridge. Looks like a modeler made it out of spare HO scale and N scale parts.

Seems that some on here have not lived by a road which is only for those who live on it.  Many think any road is ok to drive on never think it might just be private and maintained by the owner even if its marked.  Having lived in the country most of my life or have friends who do know what its like to have people just walk onto your property thinking it ok. Hunters among others and some leaving trash because they can. Ask first is the custom in some areas you will be met with a gun toting land owner who is upset. Its there piece of this earth not just anyones.

Most people today believe they are entitled to do what ever it is they want to do with no consequences.

The C&NW did, indeed, make it out of "spare parts." The main span once was part of a larger bridge crossing the Missouri River at Blair, NE.

One night on the Dr. Demento Show, the Doctor's guest was folk singer Oscar Brand. who had his own version of Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land"--"This land is my land, it isn't your land, and you'd better get off, before I blow your head off....."
