BNSF 1034 at Alamosa
Author: Mudrock

Does anyone know if BNSF 1034 is owned still by the BNSF or has it been sold to whoever is operating the former San Luis and Rio Grande Railroad?  All of the other equipment we saw had an SDCX reporting mark except for this one.

I remember seeing something last month that BNSF had it listed as "Laid Up Modified".  Not sure what that means or how accurate that is.

I've never seen "Laid Up Modified" before. Have seen Laid Up Good Order, Bad Order, Pending Expiration (Lease expiration) and For Sale.

Yeah, it was a topic from a Discussion Group that I am part of with Groups.IO.

I do wonder what they're testing. Looks like 1034 is still a bog standard -9, but the status of LU Modified suggests otherwise. None of the usual disturbed panels, weird bolt-ons, bundles of sensor wiring, etc that we usually see on these test units.
