Western Railroad Discussion > KCS Speculation V 2.0Date: 07/09/20 04:40 KCS Speculation V 2.0 Author: Vicksburg_Route Within the last couple of weeks, there was a thread on this Board regarding a rumor about a BNSF, UP and KCS combination of some type. There was a lot of speculation about the rumor on both sides of the aisle.
I noticed yesterday that a couple of large brokerage firms have raised their "target" price for KCS to $174 per share, a $28 per share price increase over the stock closing price on July 8, 2020. With the recent management changes at KCS and KCSM, plus the target price increase, plus the BNSF/UP/KCS rumors, one has to wonder what really is going on. Food for thought. VBR Out. They're fiercely independent. If they weren't, they would have merged with somebody already.
Every few years something is made about "Who is gonna buy KCS!" Nothing ever happens because of it. Still fun to speculate about though. Date: 07/09/20 05:26 Re: KCS Speculation V 2.0 Author: Vicksburg_Route Shortline614 Wrote:

Date: 07/09/20 09:06 Re: KCS Speculation V 2.0 Author: Shortline614 If KCS did get bought by BNSF, then I'd bet you would start seeing "brokerage firms" telling people to start buying Canadian Pacific stock, since then they would become the smallest Class I.
It's just the nature of being the smallest of the large companies. People are going to speculate about you being bought. See who owns the biggest amouts of shares and watch those personnel for the next year.
