This train would later end up with plenty of problems in McAlester, OK this evening. Somewhere along the line the consist was flipped and 6219 took the lead. In McAlester 7113 was added on top, and the problems ensued from there. PTC was disabled and not working, the EOT wasn't connecting to the head end box, (would connect to the second and third unit) and a headlight issue. They attempted to move a few miles south to Navy where they could unclog the main. In route to Navy, it sounded like they developed an air and/or load problem and were going to need a push from the trailing southbound. Needless to say McAlester became a mess with at least three southbounds stacked up and the last one with 45 minutes left. Along with a northbound coal train waiting to leave. About an hour after we left nothing was moving. PQM |
