Please forgive my ignorance but what is a "coaster" locomotive?

the coaster is a commuter train in southern california, two new locas being ferred from just south of sacramento to socal

and no not the coast route

Yes, in the event of the "big one" Modesto will be on the Coast, not yet though.

The Coaster is a commuter train that runs between Oceanside and San Diego, CA.
